The Students |
|
The AME Experience is about exploring art, both from an interest level, and a technical level. Students are not simply tasked with "doing a project", but rather given the opportunity to explore various modes of artistic expression as a means for communication, creative problem solving and critical thinking.
In addition to the work inside of their academic classrooms, AME students take part in 4-5 project based core collaborations per year. These projects range from poetry to game design and are built to teach both base line technical skills as well as provide a greater context for their work. In other words, students are taught how to work within these artistic mediums, as well as how these mediums are used in the world outside of high school. The AME projects are generally accompanied by a field trip or a guest speaker visitation to help the students truly see how their work relates to the AME job sector in Sonoma County and Northern California. In the surrounding slide shows, you can see various examples of student work, as well as their processes of exploration and discovery. |
